Award at Global BIM Design Competition…
Congratulations to John Hughes who was a member of the winning team on a 48 hour BIM Build Earth Live Design Competition.
In just under 48 hours, John and his team members had to imagine and design the world’s first hyperloop system to connect Dubai and Fujairah City for seamless passenger and freight transport. In this tight timeframe they produced a 4D model and set of construction drawings for three hyperloop terminals and the track infrastructure and route between the three terminals.
From 62 teams in the competition, 6 finalists were flown to Dubai. Following a presentation to a judging panel the Team were awarded ‘Best Use of BIM for Sustainability’ sponsored by hyperloop. The winners of these awards are recognised as ‘leaders in their field and masters of collaborative technologies’.
The local Team, BIM Fusion was made up of Semple & McKillop, Graham Construction, Ostick & Williams and Ulster University.
