Building New Markets
This month, Seamus McKillop, Managing Director, Semple McKillop is travelling to Kurdistan as part of an Invest Northern Ireland trade mission.
During the week long visit, Seamus will be meeting community leaders in Kurdistan’s key business centre of Erbil. This region is now regarded as the most secure and stable in the Middle East and is investing extensively in rebuilding its infrastructure, hospitals, schools, residential accommodation and transport facilities.
Prior to the trip, Seamus McKillop, said: “This trade mission comes at an opportune time for us as we implement our strategy for continued growth and development. As an innovative and flexible company with staff who are highly qualified and experienced, we are well placed to explore potential business opportunities in the Middle East.”
“Semple & McKillop are currently part of a multi-national design team delivering a £5M project in Al Hilla, Iraq. This meat primary processing plant is being delivered on programme and due for completion in May this year.”
“Having met last year with representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Authority, we were impressed by this new and rapidly growing market. Experts have suggested that the Kurdistan economy will grow by almost eight per cent this year.”
