The tender process to select the main contractor for this 140,000sq ft development is complete and O’Hare & McGovern Ltd have started works on site.

The North Foreshore Film Studios are being built on a 340-acre former landfill site adjacent to Belfast Lough. This new purpose built development will feature a 66,000sq ft film studio and sound stage, along with 2 No 23,000sq ft workshops and 32,000sq ft production space. Semple & McKillop have been appointed by Belfast Harbour Commissioners and are responsible for the mechanical, electrical and sustainable design services and specialist services design necessary to accommodate the full spectrum of film production needs for this large scale development.

The project is due for completion by 2017.

In 2012 Semple & McKillop completed the Paint Hall Film Studio in Titanic Quarter which is best known for its home to the filming of HBO’s Game of Thrones.
