The curtains are now raised and performances scheduled at the Grand Opera House. Semple & McKillop were delighted to have been trusted by the Grand Opera House to work on the significant and stunning refurbishment of this historic Belfast theatre.

As part of the integrated design team, we were responsible for the planning, design and inspection of the highly efficient building services on this £12.2M restoration project.

A significant challenge was the integration of the engineering systems to meet the needs and expectations of the building users in the 21st century, whilst working within the constraints presented by this historic and iconic 19th century landmark building. Semple & McKillop also had a key role in maximising the efficiency and sustainability of this historic build.
