We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the HSE Public Private Partnership (PPP) Community Nursing Unit Scheme. We are proud to report that two of the newly constructed CNU’s have successfully reached substantial completion.

These state-of-the-art Community Nursing Unit’s (CNU’s) represent excellence in design and construction, reflecting our commitment to high-quality living spaces for nursing home residents. Ardee & Athlone CNU’s each feature 50 bedrooms, each with a private en-suite, ensuring that every resident can enjoy a comfortable and dignified environment. Additionally, the facilities have been thoughtfully designed to incorporate a range of amenities that support the health and well-being of the residents, creating an atmosphere that feels like home.

As the appointed Technical Advisors for this tender, Semple & McKillop has worked closely with both the Client and the Design Team throughout the design and construction phases. Our role has involved providing expert guidance and ensuring that the project aligns with both regulatory standards and the highest industry practices. By fostering collaborative relationships and facilitating open communication, we’ve been able to troubleshoot challenges and advance the overall project vision. These highly efficient CNU’s are highly insulated and feature sustainable technologies such as ASHP’s and HRV. Both buildings have achieved an A2 BER rating.

We acknowledge the hard work and dedication from everyone involved, which has led to the successful completion of this phase of the project. This achievement not only represents a leap forward in patient care but also stands as a testament to the power of collaboration in the realization of ambitious projects.
