Semple & McKillop were part of the Technical Advisory Team responsible for the M&E advisory services for 2 no. Community Nursing Units located at Ardee and Athlone (pictured).
As the Technical Advisors, we had responsibility to ensure the duties of the Design Team were discharged in relation to sustainability, aswell as mechanical and electrical services, and that the principals of Energy Efficient Design (EED) were completed at each stage. These highly efficient CNU’s are highly insulated and feature sustainable technologies such as ASHP’s and HRV. Both buildings have achieved an A2 BER rating.
We also supported the Design Team in the creation of a detailed, specific HSE schedule/specification for all mechanical, electrical and sustainable systems within the CNU’s.
