Elmgrove Primary School has taken up residence in a newly developed education facility on the Avoniel Primary School site in Belfast. This new school is an amalgamation of the former Avoniel and Elmgrove primary schools, located on the Avoniel site. It was chosen as the preferred location for the amalgamated new school, due to ease of accessibility, pupil catchment and the expansion opportunities offered by the site.

Works comprised a complete refurbishment of the existing Grade A listed buildings and a 21-classroom extension to deliver one large primary school, school meals accommodation, SEN facility and separate nursery school building, for the children of East Belfast.

A BREEAM rating of “Excellent” was achieved for the new-build element with “Very Good” achieved for the refurbishment.

We were the M&E Consultants responsible for the MEP design and site supervision. We are thrilled this project has been handed over to our client and will provide a modern school environment for the inner East Belfast area.
