Semple & McKillop recognised for their innovation
Semple & McKillop are delighted to be the recipient of a Silver Level Innovator Award. This award is due to our success in partnering with Ulster University on collaborative project to support the decarbonisation of older buildings.
This collaboration, a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), shall use Artificial Intelligence to deliver automated building design solutions for the existing housing market. The software shall be used by public bodies including housing providers and associations to deliver energy efficient retrofit modelling and design solutions. It shall help meet government decarbonisation targets and address the Global Climate Change Agenda.
Dermot Savage, a recent Engineering Graduate has been appointed to the role of KTP Associate. Dermot shall work with Semple & McKillop’s Implementation Team led by Stephen Finch, Director, and a Team of academics from the Artificial Intelligence Research Group at the Ulster University.
This accreditation is further testimony to Semple & McKillop’s reputation for the delivery of innovative sustainable design solutions and leading in research and development. This Programme is a Department for the Economy initiative, delivered by Invest Northern Ireland.
