The highly specialised and acclaimed North Foreshore Film Studio has been handed over to Warner for production to begin on a new television Superman prequel. ‘KRYPTON’ has been confirmed as the first production to be housed in this £20m development set on an eight-acre site adjacent to Belfast Lough.

This new highly specialised, purpose built development includes a 66,000sq ft film studio and sound stage, along with 2 No 23,000sq ft workshops and 32,000sq ft production space to accommodate art departments, dressing rooms and wardrobe functions.

Semple & McKillop were appointed by Belfast Harbour Commissioners and responsible for the mechanical, electrical and sustainable design services and specialist services design necessary to accommodate the full spectrum of film production needs for this large-scale development.

In 2012 Semple & McKillop completed the Paint Hall Film Studio in Titanic Quarter which is best known for being the production and filming hub for the highly popular and successful HBO series Game of Thrones.
