Semple & McKillop were delighted to attend the official opening of the new Witness History Visitor Centre at the General Post Office (GPO) in Dublin.

Semple & McKillop were appointed by An Post to provide mechanical and electrical consulting services for the restoration, development and specialist fit out of this new multi-media exhibition and visitor centre. Our team were also responsible for the close liaison and development of the services design with the specialist fit-out team. The exhibition area is integrated within the footprint of the GPO’s main post office hall and includes an auditorium.

The GPO is the headquarters of the Irish Post Office, An Post, and Dublin’s principal post office and is one of Ireland’s most famous buildings. The GPO is remarkable for the place it holds in Irish history, its notable architecture and also that it continues successfully to fulfil its original purpose as the headquarters of the Irish Post Office.
