Semple McKillop Ltd has been recognised for the second time in a year for its commitment to supporting students in their career choice and development.

The company was awarded at the ‘Ulster Placement Employer of the Year Awards 2009′, held at the University of Ulster, for its contribution to student employability through work-based and placement learning.

This announcement follows news that three of the company’s students received awards at the prestigious University of Ulster CIBSE Student Awards for 2008.

“At Semple McKillop we are committed to supporting and nurturing our graduate engineers. We work closely with both Queen’s University and the University of Ulster on research projects and student placements to help the continuous flow of local talent within the engineering sector,” said Seamus McKillop, Director of Semple McKillop Ltd.

“Placement programmes are not just about the future of the students, their success is our success. Our programme is carefully planned to cover skills development, project experience and working as part of the design team. We have found that this mix enables students to thrive in the employment arena and indeed three of our students won, part time, second year and placement student at the prestigious CIBSE sponsored awards for 2008.”
